Directions

The easiest way to get to the DAC if you're not in walking distance is to use the DC Metro system. It's a simple, clean system to use to get around the city. Between Gallery Place / Chinatown, Archives, Metro Center, and Federal Triangle, any of the DC metro lines will take you to within a few blocks of the DAC. The DAC is located on 7th St. NW between D and E Streets. Both Archive and Gallery Place have exits on 7th St.

  • Gallery Place / Chinatown Metro: Exit onto 7th St and head south for two blocks (crossing F and E streets).
  • Archives: Exit onto 7th St and head north for a block and a half (crossing Indiana and D).

From Metro Center, you can get out around 12th and G St. Walk south on 12th street for 2 blocks onto E, turn left and walk 5 blocks until you reach 7th. Turn right and it's on that block on the left.

Federal Triangle lets off onto 12th street as well. You want to walk north on 12th until E after crossing Pennsylvania Ave, turn right. Walk 5 blocks until you reach 7th. Turn right and it's on that block on the left.

Travel and Public Transportation

If you are traveling to the conference by airplane, we recommend flying into Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. This airport and the conference venue are both conveniently accessible via the DC Metro.

Hotels

Due to other activities going on in DC the week of the conference, we were not able to secure a group rate at a hotel. Part of the planning of the location, however, was to maximize ease of using publc transportation to get to and from the conference.

The DAC sits wihtin a couple of blocks from any of the DC Metro stops. If you don't find a place within walking distance of the conference already, then finding a hotel near any metro stop will get you there pretty easily. The stops to look for are the Archive Metro Station for the Green and Yellow lines; Gallery Place/Chinatown for Green, Yellow, and Red; and Metro Center for Blue, Orange, and Red.
